Luben Li
Vice President, Strategy & Business Development
As an executive leader of Strategy and Business Development, Luben Li leads Cepheid’s strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and strategic alliance activities.
With dual bachelor’s degrees in Finance & Management and Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania, Luben recognizes the unique business challenges of the biomedical industry and the need to balance competitive strategies with patient well-being.
In 2012, Luben joined Boston Consulting Group as a Principal where he focused on medical technology, pharmacy, digital health, and other healthcare sectors. For over nine years, Luben worked on more than 45 projects across a variety of functions, including strategy, business development, commercial, research and development and operations, while also making time to lead the company’s Asian Diversity Network and a career development committee.
Luben began working for Cepheid as Senior Director of Global Strategy in May 2021, where his successful strategic initiatives led to his promotion to Vice President in January 2022. With attention to complex global healthcare needs, Luben strives to grow Cepheid to improve patient outcomes and broaden the availability of molecular diagnostics.
