Unless otherwise specified, you are eligible for all benefits included here if you are a regular Danaher associate working 20 or more hours per week. If you are covered by a collective bargaining agreement (CBA), talk to your local human resources department about which benefits programs you are eligible for and when coverage begins.

Health, Wellness and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • Medical – Choice of Cepheid Aetna HDHP with HSA (Health Savings Account), Cepheid Aetna EPO, Cepheid Aetna PPO and Cepheid Kaiser HMO (in CA only)
  • Dental – Dental PPO plan with CIGNA covers preventative, basic and major services
  • Vision – Vision Service Plan (VSP) covers exams, frames and lenses
  • Wellness – Health screenings, health assessments, resources and incentives to improve your health
  • HealthCare FSA – Reduce taxes by setting aside up to $2,600 to pay health care expenses not reimbursed by other plans
  • Dependent Day Care FSA – Reduce taxes by setting aside up to $5,000 to pay dependent day care expenses

Life, Accident and Disability Insurance Plans

  • Basic Life Insurance – Company-provided life insurance of 1-1/2 times pay or $50,000 (whichever is greater). If your benefit at 1-1/2 times pay is greater than $50,000, you can still elect the $50,000 option to avoid imputed income tax.
  • Optional Life Insurance – Optional life insurance for associates, spouse and children
  • Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) - Optional AD&D coverage
  • Business Travel Accident – Company-provided coverage while on business travel
  • Short-Term Disability – Company-provided coverage provides short-term disability income for up to 26 weeks
  • Long-Term Disability – Optional coverage provides long-term disability income after 26 weeks total disability

Time Off

  • Holidays – Twelve paid holidays in 2018
  • Paid Time Off – PTO is accrued on a bi-weekly basis beginning with an associate’s first pay period. PTO accrues in the associate’s account based on how long the associate has been working at Cepheid: During the first 5 years of service, salaried and hourly associates are eligible for 15 days of vacation. Vacation time then increases with vacation time amounts varying based on the length of employment with Cepheid. The rate changes on the same pay date as the pay period the anniversary falls.

  • Paid Sick Time Off – Associates are entitled to 3 days of Paid Sick time off. Associates who have been with the Company for at least 90 days can use their PST immediately. Those who have not yet been employed for 90 days can use their PST beginning on their 90th day of employment.

Savings Plan

  • Immediately eligible to enroll in the Danaher Savings Plan (DSP) with pre-tax and Roth after-tax contributions (in aggregate) up to 75% of eligible pay, up to annual IRS dollar limits
  • Company will match 100% of each dollar you defer on the first 3% of pay, plus 50% of the next 2% you defer each pay period. You are always 100% vested in your own contributions to the plan as well as any company matching contributions that are deposited to your account
  • After one year of service: You may receive an additional Company Retirement Contribution equal to 2% of eligible pay each pay period. Company Retirement Contributions are 100% vested after completing 3 years of service
  • Invest in a broad range of professionally managed funds, a unitized Danaher Stock Fund and a self-directed brokerage option through Fidelity BrokerageLink®

Assistance Programs and Other Services

  • Employee Assistance Program – Provides confidential counseling services for personal, legal and financial matters as well as referrals and resources for work-life decisions
  • Legal Assistance Plan – Provides associates with covered legal services from experienced attorneys at low group rate
  • Adoption Assistance – Provides an adoption benefit program to offer financial assistance to U.S. associates with one or more years of service who are building families through adoption. You will receive up to $10,000 in financial reimbursement for covered expenses related to domestic or international adoptions
  • Auto and Home Protection Plan – Option to purchase automobile, and home and insurances at competitive group rates with payroll deduction
  • Pet Insurance – Option to purchase a pet insurance policy with Metlife, provides pets with great medical care at affordable prices with payroll deduction
  • Commuter Benefit – Save money on the cost of getting back and forth to work by purchasing public transportation cards and parking permits with pretax dollars
